Student Leadership
Student leadership at good 亚洲成人网 is developed within formal programs but also nurtured and reinforced as a response to the values base and culture of the College.
Leading Opportunities
Opportunities to lead include College events such as swimming and sporting carnivals, Valedictory and Graduation Services, Worship Services, Information Evenings, Open Days and Principal's Tours, public events such as ANZAC Day, Bombing of Darwin ceremonies, as well as being representatives of the student body to College Executive. A feature of the Leadership program is the opportunity for College and House captains to travel to Malaysia and assist with the Bethany Home project, which is sponsored by the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA) International Mission.
Bethany Home
As outlined in the College leadership application, one of the many duties that form part of the leadership role is the involvement in our College Service Project. This involves travelling to Malaysia to become familiar with our partner school, then returning to Good 亚洲成人网 to encourage and lead fundraising efforts for the rest of the year. The current focus of our College Service Project is Bethany Home in Malaysia, located at Simpang Empat, Hutan Melintang, in the state of Perak. In this project, we are building an ongoing partnership with Bethany Home that will last a number of years. Bethany Home is located about four hours out of Kuala Lumpur by bus and is run by the Lutheran Church in Malaysia. It is a boarding and day school for students with intellectual disabilities and also has a unit for training young adults with intellectual disabilities. College and House captains have the opportunity to travel to Malaysia and assist with the Bethany Home project. To find out more about Bethany Home, please visit:
House Care Groups
The College's Christian Studies and House Care Groups encourage students to reflect upon their personal values and the opportunities to be of service to those around them. The College value of integrity, (that is putting your values into practice), requires students to be courageous, at times in risky situations and this culture encourages leadership in all our students.
